Vinka: Swangz Avenue’s Dancehall Diva Premieres “Love Doctor”

Vinka has now established herself as an indisputable dancehall diva. I will talk in detail about her music, perhaps in another article.
Straight out of Swangz Avenue is this sleek 4K picture of Love Doctor; a 3-minute-long-music-visual directed by Marvin Musoke, initiated by Vinka herself.

I always go after the apparent blunders… but this one is everything I would expect a Vinka video to be -- it is quite an exquisite piece. As usual she doesn’t overdo herself – she does exactly what she is supposed to do – and she does well. Being real and authentic is her single greatest strength.
On Love Doctor [as several of her previous club bangers], she costumes herself to pull off sassy and chic… she is with jeans, caps, monocles, sneakers… and her larger-than-life swag & demeanor is like the icing on the cake. Moreover, it all does not seem painstaking for her -- and it shouldn't – she is confident in her own act  and of course she is gorgeous.
I seldom look for intricate stories off dancehall videos – neither do I expect them to be.
But I expect dance and Vinka is no novice on that front – she is a hot-stepper. I credit the video maker here with how he manages to get astute camera angles that beautifully capture her face; her mischievous and ragamuffin self – as at the same time flaunts love, which is the theme of the song.
Color is everything in her genre of music. However, sometimes it tends to get ambiguous. In Vinka’s, though, there’s an edgy but careful selection of color themes – in order not to eclipse the Principal -- brilliantly, the camera focuses on her -- whether in a group dance scene, coupling scene or environmental (leisure park) noise scene… it's pretty much a specialist's expose.
What this video has done is book space for Vinka in beyond-Uganda markets.
This is by far, Vinka’s best video and one of the best in the country right now. Good audio, good video!

Good job!
