Telemundo Africa To Premiere “Lord Of The Skies” In April

After spanning five seasons on TV [since
2013], with a sixth one in the offing and a movie to condense all the previous seasons, El Señor de los Cielos [Lord of The Skies] swanks of
being one of the most successful soap operas of all time.
It has had at least 52 Award Nominations, and won a whole 23 prestigious accolades, including the International Emmy
Award for Non-English Language US Primetime Program in 2014.
This is now coming to Telemundo
Africa from April 9, 2018 – an
American telenovela created by Luis Zelkowicz.

The series is based on the life
and work of Amado Carrillo Fuentes (December 17, 1956 -
July 3, 1997), the former leader of the Juarez
Cartel, as well as the most powerful trafficker of his time and one of the
richest men in Mexico. It stars Rafael
Amaya as the titular character.
The Plot

The story [series] follows the
life of Aurelio Casillas (Rafael
Amaya), a drug lord who is recognized for knowing how to transfer drug
substances to Mexico, Colombia, and
the United States.
Aurelio and his wife Ximena (Ximena
Herrera) have three children, Rutila (Carmen Aub),
Heriberto (Ruy Senderos), and Luz Marina (Gala Montes). He also has his
faithful brother Chacorta (Raúl
Méndez) who helps him in all his illicit businesses.
Although he had made a conscious
decision to remain anonymous, Aurelio would end up being cornered by the
authorities after being found as he decides to undergo a face operation in
which he supposedly dies, thus causing his empire of power to fall.
As it turns out, Telemundo has
decided to bring back to back super series to Africa. The storylines mostly include more action packed scenes more suited for mature
audience, and attracting the audience of male viewers.
The timimg of the "Lord of the Skies" will very much depends on
the timing of the rest of the current series on Telemundo… this is all exciting news.”
The show will debut April 9,
2018 on DSTV, Channel 118 at 11 O’clock [CAT], 12 O’clock [EAT].
