Meghan Markle's Dad Insists He's Walking Her Daughter Down the Aisle Despite Doctors' Advice

ELLE | Meghan Markle's dad, Thomas Markle, allegedly called up TMZ again to tell them he has had a change of heart, thanks to Meghan, and now wants to attend the royal wedding and walk his daughter down the aisle. The only thing stopping Thomas is the doctors at the hospital he's checked himself into.

Thomas told TMZ yesterday that he was planning to check himself in again after he suffered a heart attack last week, checked himself out of the hospital to go to the wedding, and then started having serious chest pains again yesterday as his paparazzi photo staging scandal blew up in the press.
He told TMZ yesterday that he would no longer attend the wedding because he didn't want to cause Meghan any further embarrassment.

But Meghan changed his mind, he told TMZ today. She originally tried calling him yesterday, he said, but he was not near his phone. "She followed up with a text telling him she loved him and was concerned about his health," TMZ wrote. "He says she harbors no ill feelings toward him for making a deal with a paparazzi agency to stage photos of him getting ready for the wedding."

Thomas thought about it and decided he wanted to be part of Meghan's day. "I hate the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle," he told TMZ. Right now, he's waiting for doctors to discharge him and has lobbied for it to be by Wednesday, but they've been noncommittal. TMZ reports they have performed a series of tests on him and that his heart was seriously damaged after the heart attack last week.

He also shut down the idea that Meghan and her half-sister Samantha Grant have any relationship or that Samantha knows anything about Meghan's relationship with Harry.

TMZ additionally asked him about Page Six's report that Queen Elizabeth II was upset at him for the photo staging. "I don't think the queen is thinking about what I'm doing," he allegedly scoffed in reply.
