Nickelodeon's 2018 Kids' Choice Awards Roadmap Officially Unveiled

The Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards are here again. The nominations were announced on February 26, 2018 and .... Voting in the music categories for the 2018 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards officially begins March 5, 2018. 

Unlike past years where the voting periods for all categories opened all at once, one genre will be open up to voting per week, along with several show-only category voting windows.

Coldplay, Fifth Harmony, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, the Chainsmokers and Twenty One Pilots will vie for the title of Favorite Music Group at the awards show, which airs live on Saturday, March 24 with returning host John Cena as the emcee.

Favorite Song contenders include Grammy record of the year nominees “Despacito" by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee, featuring Justin Bieber; “Humble.” by Kendrick Lamar; “I’m the One” by  DJ Khaled, featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne; “It Ain’t Me,” by Selena Gomez & Kygo; “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift; “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran; “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars; and “Thunder” by Imagine Dragons.

As in Nickelodeon’s ever-global nature of today’s hitmakers, the Favorite Global Musical Star Award is back for a second year. The competition pits Taylor Swift, representing North America, against Black Coffee (Africa), BTS (Asia), Lorde (Australia/New Zealand), Maluma (South America), the Vamps (U.K.) and Zara Larsson (Europe).

In addition to the nominations being tallied during the next four weeks, voters this year will have the chance to influence the show in real-time with live voting opportunities.

This year's show will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, California. Nickelodeon will broadcast the annual event in more than 170 countries and territories.
