MTV Video Music Awards took place Monday,  August 20, 2018 at  Radio City Music Hall  in  New York City ,  and that means a slew of artists walked away from the night with the show's iconic statue -- which underwent a  name change  last year -- in hand.  

The  2018 Teen Choice Awards  ceremony was held on August 12, 2018. The awards celebrated the year's achievements in music, film, television, sports, fashion, comedy, and the internet, and are voted on by viewers aged 13 and over living in the United States through various social media sites. HBO’s “Game of Thrones” led the pack with 22 nods, the most for any series. NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” and HBO’s “Westworld” trailed close behind with 21 each.  Ryan Eggold and Samira Wiley FX’s “The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” drew the most nominations for a limited series with 18 nods, while fellow FX title “Atlanta” was the most nominated comedy series at 16. Netflix surpassed HBO as the most nominated network or platform with 112 nominations to the premium cablers’ 108.

 Nigerian pop star Davido won Best International Act on Sunday at the BET Awards and urged greater collaborations between US and African musicians.

Jordan won for his super good supervillain performance. Jamie Foxx  is set to host the 2018 BET Awards. Jamie Foxx According to E !, he talented actor, singer and host of the game show  Beat Shazam will take the stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles as emcee of the award show on June 24.

This year's nominees for the  Teen Choice Awards  have been announced.  Taylor Swift ,  Cardi B , and  Ed Sheeran  are among the top artists in the music category, and each superstar received three nominations. The 72nd Annual Tony Awards were held on Sunday, June 10, 2018, to recognize achievement in Broadway productions during the 2017–18 season. The ceremony was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and was broadcast live by CBS.    Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban served as hosts. The Band's Visit   was the most winning production of the season, with 10 awards, including  Best Musical .   Harry Potter and the Cursed Child   won six awards, including   Best Play , while   Angels in America   won three, including   Revival of a Play.

Stormzy and Ed Sheeran are among the big winners at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards. Stormzy The ceremony for the 2018 edition of  the awards , which recognise and reward “excellence in British and Irish songwriting and composing” and are said to represent “the pinnacle of musical achievement and peer recognition”, took place in London, May 31, 2018.

The 2018 Billboard Music Awards honoured some of the biggest names in music. The ceremony took place on Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this year, with Kelly Clarkson hosting the evening.

Africa, this time round has been honored with five nominees from the continent, including Cassper Nyovest and Distruction Boyz from South Africa; Davido and Tiwa Savage from Nigeria and Fally Ipupa from D. R. Congo – these were nominated in the 2018 BET Awards for Best International Act category as of Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Tiwa Savage The African-five will, however, have to beat Booba , Dadju and Niska from France; J Hus , Stefflon Don and  Stormzy from United Kingdom with whom they have been nominated in the same category.

This year’s [2018] BET Awards have seen DJ Khaled being nominated for a leading six trophies, followed by  Kendrick Lamar with five . The nominations for next month’s ceremony were announced Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Among the awards Khaled was nominated for include album of the year for  Grateful  and video of the year for Wild Thoughts which featured Rihanna and Bryson Tiller .

2018 KCA WINNER: Eddy Kenzo Eddy Kenzo has won yet another international award. On Saturday, the multi-award winning Ugandan musician was named Favourite African Star at  Nickelodeon's 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards !

2018 Hipipo Music Awards The 2018 Hipipo Music Awards took place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Kampala Serena Hotel. For the sixth straight year, the ceremony celebrated the biggest songs and artists heard throughout the last year across radio, TV stations and the internet. The list of nominations was announced December, 2017. Receiving multiple wins this year were Sheebah Karungi, Moses Ssekibogo [Mowzey Radio], Fik Fameika and Rema Namakula, among others.

On Sunday, March 11, 2018, a posse of chart-toppers came together in one place, for the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards at The Forum in Los Angeles and it was a night to remember.
