Award-winning British singer Emeli Sande on Thurday, February 8 was honored with an MBE [an honor of Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, a grade within the British order of chivalry]. This was in a ceremony with the Duke of Cornwall, Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

In her remark, the excited 30-year-old songbird posted to Instagram, overwhelmed with thrill: “What an incredible day!!!!,”she wrote. “Being able to share it with my family was a dream!”
She continued: “Without their sacrifices, relentless hard work and support I wouldn’t be here…walking into the palace with my Mum, Dad and Sis was emotional! They’ve inspired me to believe that anything is possible and that love truly conquers all. I thank God every day for them and for this incredible journey.”
Then she had a word for the rest of us too: “Never give up, dream as big as possible ...baby you’re made of stars don’t let no body tell you different x”
According to ChronicleLive, the honor was granted to the star in recognition of her services to music as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honors last year.
The singer was born in Sunderland to a British mother and a Zambian-born father.
She spent some time in her father’s home country before the family eventually settled in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, when she was four.
