The Fall Of A Star: How Mowzey Radio Met His Demise

RIP: Moses Ssekibogo a.k.a Mowzey Radio
Ugandan music sensation, Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio of the Goodlyfe Crew died on Thursday morning, February 1, 2018 in the Intensive Care Unit at Case Hospital in Kampala just about nine (9) days after being beaten into coma.
Case clinic confirmed 34-year-old Mowzey Radio’s death in a statement. Born January 25, 1983, his anniversary found him admitted in hospital.

The management of Case Hospital announced the passing of Moses Ssekibogo also known as Mowzey Radio on February 1, 2018 at 6.00am. before a press conference that combined both doctors and bereaved family.”
In the press briefing yesterday, it became known that Musician, Moses Ssekibogo alias Mozey Radio, 34 has breathed his last at Case Hospital where he has been receiving intensive care treatment.

It emerged that singer’s heart had stopped beating on its own at 2:00am in the night. Doctors fought to save his life all through the night to no avail. He finally breathed his last at around 6:30am  in the morning.

Music Promoter, Balaam Barugahare, Goodlyfe manager, Chagga and Radio’s lifelong friend and colleague, Weasel all confirmed even on Twitter that “the soldier had died.”

During the Press Conference, Balaam said, “He is dead. Right now we are taking the body to the mortuary, then we will be preparing burial arrangements which we will communicate to you.”

Thursday Morning, his body was to be taken to the Mulago City Mortuary for official postmortem. Police says this will help them collect more evidence to pin those who beat up the deceased.

In the afternoon, his body was be moved to Neverland, hi home in Makindye, Kampala where he has been living. And there, a vigil held.

Today, February 2, 2018, the will be taken for public viewing at the National Theatre.
He will be buried on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Kaga Village in Nakawuka, along Entebbe Rd.

Doctors that worked on him reported to the media that the patient, Moses Ssekibogo had got blood clots in his brain as a result of the fall he suffered at the bar. They added that they put a small hole in his skull to let the blood out and ease pressure on his brain. 


On Saturday, January 28, however, Mowzey got difficulty with breathing prompting the doctors put another small hole around his neck to make sure he could breathe well.

Mowzey was allegedly thumped by a bouncer at De Bar along Entebbe Road. Initial reports suggest that he landed badly on the club’s hard surface with his head first and broke his neck.
He was rushed to Nsambya hospital in an ambulance. 


But soon as they arrived at Nsambya hospital, the singer was referred to Case clinic where he was operated on in the wee hours of the night.
Police have since made several arrests as they seek answers but no one has been charged yet.
Among others taken into custody was George Egesa, owner of the bar from where Mowzey was assaulted and then admitted to Emmanuel Clinic in Entebbe, transferred to Nsambya then to Case where only about a week later, he succumbed to death.
